Everton’s French midfielder Abdoulaye Doucouré hasn’t featured since the club’s 1-0 win over Southampton at the start of the month due to injury.

The 28-year-old has been a namestay in the club’s midfield since joining in the summer from Watford, but it seemed as though the game against the Saints would be his last for the season.

However, in a recent update on Twitter, it appears as though we could dee Doucouré back on the pitch sooner than expected…

The Frenchman has more than putting a smile on the faces of the Everton faithful with this one – his rehabilitation is going well so far which is encouraging news.

One great thing about the tweet is Doucouré’s evident humility, first asking how everyone is and wishing them well..

There is plenty of hope that the midfielder will be back before the end of the season and he will be desperately needed too.

If the club have hopes of making a push for European football towards the tail end of this season then they will need all the star power they can get.

The Toffees face Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League next, with a tough trip down south to face Graham Potters side.

It looks as though the club has a real warrior on their hands, and I have no doubt that Doucouré will come back stronger than ever.
