Former Everton striking hero Kevin Campbell has endorsed a reported Everton target in Real Betis playmaker Nabil Fekir – but claimed the Frenchman should move elsewhere.
Goodison News cites Fichajes as claiming that Benitez wants to bring Fekir to Goodison Park in January, with the fan site speaking to the former Everton ace for his views on Fekir.;
However, Campbell instead claimed that the ex-Lyon attacking midfielder should move to another of his former sides in Arsenal.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Campbell said:
“I would like him at Arsenal if I am honest with you.
“I tell you something if Everton get him, he is a fine player. He’s a really good player; he’s tough; he’s a leftie, and not only can he score, he can create as well.
“He’s a handful. He nearly went to Liverpool; it didn’t quite work out because of a failed medical. If Everton could get hold of him, that could set some fires on Merseyside.”

Everton are not immediately lacking for goals given the impact from new dynamos in the likes of Andros Townsend and Demarai Gray, but Fekir is a more natural fit positionally for the void left by the departure of playmaker James Rodriguez.
Since his move to La Liga with Betis, Fekir has featured in 81 games and he has scored 14 goals and provided 15 assists in all competitions.
A consistent return in terms of productivity renders Fekir a potent threat. Although he is 28 and is not gettingany younger, he has until the summer of 2023 left to run on his deal.
As a result, that could force the La Liga side to cash in either in January or next summer in order to avoid waiving the chance to secure a transfer fee.
