Everton: Salomon Rondon eyed by UAE club
Everton recently saw Allan wave goodbye to the Merseyside club for a move to the Middle East as he joined Al Wahda.
It now appears that another member of Frank Lampard’s squad has caught the attention of another one of the UAE clubs.
According to a recent report from the Liverpool Echo, Sharjah FC are interested in signing Toffees striker Salomon Rondon before their transfer window closes in a few days.
Since arriving at Goodison Park on a free transfer from Chinese club, Dalian Professional, back in August last year, the striker has made 29 appearances for the club across all competitions.
In those appearances, the Venezuelan has found the net on just three occasions, highlighting his ineffectiveness in front of goal.
Out of the 29 games he’s played for Everton, 16 of them have seen him come from the substitutes bench rather than from the start.
Also, two of his three goals came during the club’s 2-0 win over Boreham Wood in the FA Cup back in March.
With 89 minutes of league action to his name in this current season, Rondon has only been able to earn himself a rather uninspiring performance rating of 6.19/10 from WhoScored, making him one of Everton’s lowest-rated players.
Taking all of this into account, it would be safe to assume that many Toffees supporters would be over the moon to potentially see the misfiring striker leave Goodison Park and follow Allan to the Middle East.
Having the likes of Neal Maupay and Dominic Calvert-Lewin in his ranks shouldn’t make Rondon’s potential exit from Everton too much of an issue for Lampard, especially if the Englishman can avoid any injuries throughout the remainder of the campaign.
With all of that in mind, if the centre-forward were to make a move away from Everton anytime soon, it’s hard to see that being a major issue for the club or Lampard.
