It has recently been reported that another player in Frank Lampard’s squad could be on his way out soon, namely Salomon Rondon, who has reportedly caught the interest of FC Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.
Should Lampard be able to get the Venezuelan out the door at some point in the near future, one other player with whom Everton have been linked and who could be a suitable replacement for Rondon is Udinese striker Beto.
In 37 appearances for the Italian outfit, the 24-year-old has found the net 16 times.
This highlights just how clinical he is in front of goal, something that Rondon clearly hasn’t been during his time at Goodison Park.
With those five goals coming in Beto’s previous six league games, this shows just how much of a part the attacker has played in seeing his team win every one of those matches, putting them a lofty third in the Serie A table and only one point off the summit.
Hailed as a “powerful” player by journalist Josh Bunting, Beto could be an ideal fit in Lampard’s squad bearing in mind how only Wolves (0.13) have a worse rate of goals per shot on target than Everton (0.17) in the Premier League this season.
Taking all that into account, it’s clear that the Udinese predator would be a better option for Lampard and the Toffees than Rondon. Therefore, if the club can get rid of the Venezuelan and bring in Beto at some point, this would surely be a great bit of business from Farhad Moshiri and co at Goodison Park.
