# Al Nasr considering £10m approach for Bernard

Everton winger [Bernard](https://readeverton.com/2020/04/03/everton-fans-react-to-report-of-potential-summer-exit-for-bernard/) is reportedly the subject of transfer interest from Dubai-based club Al Nasr.

The Emirati side – whose name translates to ‘victory’ in Arabic – are looking to score a transfer victory by bringing the Toffees winger to the United Arab Emirates.

According to [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/transfer-centre) ([Transfer Centre](https://www.skysports.com/transfer-centre), 19/01/2021, 8:07am), Al Nasr are considering the submission of a £10m offer for the former Shakhtar Donetsk winger, who joined Everton on a [free transfer](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45120522) in 2018.

Bernard is behind the likes of Richarlison and even natural left-back Lucas Digne in the pecking order of left-sided attackers. The latter recently [featured in a more advanced role](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lucas-digne/leistungsdaten/spieler/126664) in Everton’s recent [2-1 triumph](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55540637)over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

According to [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/transfer-centre), no official offer or contact has been made with Everton, but a deal could be in the pipeline.

Bernard, who has just 18 months remaining [on his contract,](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bernard/profil/spieler/175169) has featured just 10 times in all competitions this season and has managed a single Premier League goal ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bernard/leistungsdaten/spieler/175169)).

He will ordinarily be a free agent next summer and has [attracted further interest](https://www.chiesaditotti.com/as-roma-transfer-news-rumors/2021/1/8/22220344/bernard-robin-olsen-roma-everton-swap)from Serie A side AS Roma, whose goalkeeper Robin Olsen is [on loan at Goodison Park](https://www.evertonfc.com/news/1857124/everton-complete-loan-deal-for-keeper-olsen).

Dubai is not an unfamiliar hub for footballers. Celtic have found themselves [embroiled in controversy](https://readceltic.com/2021/01/19/celtic-fans-neil-lennon-update-kheredine-idessane/) after making a publicised recent visit to the city which is popular with clubs as a warm-weather training camp destination.

A deal of any sort for Bernard makes total sense for the Toffees. To receive a fee of £10m represents a handsome profit and a certain recuperation of wage expenses.

Given his lack of importance to Carlo Ancelotti’s plans and his contract situation, this window could be the best opportunity to cash in.
