# Alan Brazil slams Everton fans as ‘idiots’ for not wanting Moyes return

Alan Brazil has slammed Everton fans who don’t want to see David Moyes return as Toffees boss.

Marco Silva is on the brink of being sacked by the club following Wednesday night’s 5-2 loss to Liverpool at Anfield, a result that saw the Blues drop into the bottom three.

Moyes has been heavily tipped to replace the former Watford boss, with Tim Cahill to also return to the club in an assistant role.

Moyes’ potential return has dividied the fan base, with many suporrters not keen to see the club appoint a former manager and essentially take a backwards step.

talkSPORT host Brazil though doesn’t have patience for those supporters though, and in a tirade on air he criticised fans that hold that opinion. [Brazil said](https://talksport.com/football/638648/alan-brazil-everton-fans-david-moyes-idiots/):

> Some Everton fans have come on already saying – ‘no, no, no, we’re not going back’ – get lost you idiots!

> Look where you are in the table and look at what Davey did for you!

> Everton are struggling, they’re going down! Who do they want?

> Sean Dyche, Eddie Howe, Chris Wilder – why would any of them want to go to Everton? Why would they want to leave where they are at the moment?

> Everton fans, COME ON! You’re in big trouble! How do you know these managers would do great things at Goodison? You know David or Big Sam would keep them up!

### Read Everton Verdict

There is no more ignorant stance in football than when someone criticises and chastises a fan base for having an opinion over the club that they hold dear, when the person doing the criticising is uneducated and unassociated with the situation.

Everton fans have every right to vent against the decision to bring David Moyes back to the club, and while there are reasons to be against the Scotsman, the fans wouldn’t be ‘idiots’ for not wanting his return even if it did make perfect logical sense.

Moyes represents a bygone era at the club, which doesn’t exactly make fans feel like the club is now moving forward. He also made some comments about the club and the fans after he left Goodison Park that weren’t received well, and if he is respected and taken back with open arms against Chelsea, he should take that as a blessing.
