# Ancelotti “would take” Hirving Lozano to Everton next summer

Everton will make a move to sign Napoli forward Hirving Lozano in the summer, according to director of Corriere Dello Sport Ivan Zazzaroni ([via Napoli Magazine](https://www.napolimagazine.com/calcio/articolo/mercato-zazzaroni-ancelotti-mi-ha-detto-che-a-giugno-riprenderebbe-lozano-all-everton-se-glielo-des)), who claims that Carlo Ancelotti has told him as such.

[Corriere dello Sport](https://www.corrieredellosport.it/?refresh_ce) ([via Calcio Napoli 1926](https://www.calcionapoli1926.it/rassegna/lozano-everton-ancelotti/?refresh_ce-cp)) claimed last week that the Toffees could look to sign the Mexican winger, with Lozano having ‘flopped’ since signing for Napoli from PSV last summer.

Rated at £36million by [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/hirving-lozano/profil/spieler/316889), Lozano has scored twice and assisted just once in 15 Serie A appearances this season since completing his £34.2million transfer from Eindhoven.

Having had such a minimal impact for the Partenopei, [Corriere Dello Sport believe](https://www.calcionapoli1926.it/rassegna/lozano-everton-ancelotti/) that Napoli could look to shift the 24-year old at the end of the season, and Everton would be prime contenders if Zazzaroni is to be believed.

Speaking on Canale 21’s Il Bello del Calcio show, as [reported by Napoli Magazine](https://www.napolimagazine.com/calcio/articolo/mercato-zazzaroni-ancelotti-mi-ha-detto-che-a-giugno-riprenderebbe-lozano-all-everton-se-glielo-des), Zazzaroni said:

> Lozano has been rejected, and Ancelotti would take him to Everton. Ancelotti told me so. He’ll take him back in June if they give him.

### Read Everton Verdict

Given that Zazzaroni has claimed that he directly heard of Ancelotti’s intentions from the man himself, this would-be trivial rumour has been given more weight.

Everton’s pursuit of Lozano makes plenty of sense. The Toffees have publicly made their intention to sign a right-sided winger known, with [Marcel Brands having claimed as much at the club’s recent AGM](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/marcel-brands-explains-everton-transfer-17568853). On top of that, Everton have the money to spend, and with the club [set to undergo a summer rebuild](https://www.insidefutbol.com/2019/12/22/carlo-ancelotti-eyeing-two-serie-a-stars-for-everton-rebuild/446429/), Lozano could be the high profile signing that Ancelotti needs to stamp his mark on the Merseyside outfit.

Brands took Lozano to PSV from Pachuca in 2017, and Ancelotti took him to Naples last summer, so the Mexican has history with several key figures at Goodison Park, which could also work in Everton’s favour if the club do indeed make a move during the close season.
