# Baningime loan collapses – and it’s good for Everton

Beni Baningime appears set to remain with Everton this summer after a loan move to Danish side Brondby has collapsed, [reports Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-major-everton-transfer-development-after-midfielder-jets-overseas-for-talks/).

The 20-year old midfielder was set to join the Danish Superliga side on a short-term deal, with the DR Congo rising star keen on earning minutes at a senior level of football this season.

Baningime had travelled to Denmark last week for negotiations, however Football Insider claim that a deal is now off the table, and Baningime will now remain on Merseyside until at least January.

Baningime was keen to get back out on loan after having endured a disappointing loan spell last season with Wigan Athletic, where injuries severely restricted his game time for the Latics.

Baningime is currently way down the pecking order on Merseyside, with Andre Gomes, Morgan Schneiderlin, Fabian Delph, JP Gbamin and Tom Davies all ahead of him.

While Baningime’s loan collapsing isn’t the best news for the player, Everton could look to turn that situation to their advantage. Baningime has played first-team football for Everton before, and he always seemed to impress when he did.

Suddenly he disappeared from contention for a space in the squad, but if Everton’s midfield department is in need of reinforcement, Silva could look to promote the 20-year old.
