# Benfica to demand huge fee for Everton target Jimenez

SL Benfica are reportedly ready to demand a huge fee for Raul Jimenez.

The Mexican international has been linked with a move to Everton for a long time now, and recent reports have suggested that the Toffees are continuing to scout the striker despite the transfer window being closed.

Jimenez was touted with a switch to Goodison Park in the summer transfer window but nothing materialised, with Ronald Koeman still unhappy with his striking options.

The 26-year-old has notched two goals in all competitions this season and Portuguese reports, as cited by [talkSPORT](https://talksport.com/football/everton-fc-transfer-news-toffees-told-pay-ps44m-sign-benfica-forward-raul-jimenez), claim that Benfica will demand £44 million for the striker – the full extent of his current release clause.

It’s stated that Benfica would be willing to sell the striker this January, although he has become more and more involved in their plans this season.

Oumar Niasse has hit form with Everton, but with links to Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud still surfacing, it’s likely that a move for a forward will be on Ronald Koeman’s mind when the January transfer window comes around.
