# Bent labels Iwobi “perfect teammate” – How will he fit in for Everton?

Darren Bent has labelled new Everton signing Alex Iwobi as the “perfect teammate”.

The Nigeria international joined the Toffees from Arsenal on transfer Deadline Day for a fee that could rise as high as £35million, and many fans are eagerly anticipating his debut against Watford next weekend.

Speaking [exclusively to Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/isnt-anyone-better-exclusive-darren-bent-drools-over-everton-ace-who-is-perfect-teammate/), Bent described how Iwobi would settle in well at Everton, citing his stellar work ethic and determination as principle properties that will make him a valued addition. Bent said:

> If you talk about work ethic, attitude towards the game, I don’t think there’s anyone better. I think he always works hard, always gives 100 per cent.
>
> He’s one of those guys you want in your team because he works hard and does everybody else’s running. He probably is the perfect teammate with regards to his work ethic and attitude because he leads by example and work ethic.

### Read Everton Verdict

I wasn’t initially blown away by Everton’s interest in Alex Iwobi, particularly with Wilfried Zaha also a target at the same time. However, I’ve really come around on signing the 23-year old, and I’m really looking forward to seeing what he can do for the club this season.

It’s always positive to hear about a player having a positive work ethic and stellar determination to impress and help his teammates, and I’m looking forward to seeing whether that will be translated onto the pitch.

Certainly after the Crystal Palace game, Everton need an additional creative spark, and I really hope Iwobi can provide that.
