# Bolasie shoots down Russia speculation

Yannick Bolasie has dismissed speculation that had suggested Everton had offered him to CSKA Moscow.

Yesterday [we covered the news](https://readeverton.com/2019/08/07/everton-offer-bolasie-to-cska-good-move-for-all-parties/) that the Toffees were looking to move the DR Congo international along this summer, with Russian Premier League side CSKA the mentioned destination.

While Everton were said to have offered Bolasie’s services to the club, CSKA were considering making a proposal to sign the former Crystal Palace winger.

However, Bolasie [shot those reports down on Twitter last night](https://twitter.com/YannickBolasie/status/1159189339101941761), claiming he wasn’t interested in receiving the Malcom treatment in Russia.

Former Everton target Malcom signed for Zenit from Barcelona last week, and his arrival was met with backlash by a portion of the Russian club’s fan base, who held up banners saying “thanks to the leadership for loyalty to the traditions” and “RIP Selection 12”, both in reference to the disruption of some Zenit fans’ desired transfer policy of not signing black players.

### Read Everton Verdict

There isn’t an awful lot of comment I can provide here other than saying it would be a wise choice for Bolasie not to trade the Premier League for Russia. While not all fans operate the same way in Russia, a move to Moscow doesn’t seem worth it for the rotten racist apples.

Hopefully he still finds a solution to his current situation, with the winger not likely to play often this season. Far down the pecking order, Bolasie would benefit from another spell away, either on loan or permanently, while Everton would benefit also.
