# Boost for Everton as West Ham delay Dendoncker decision

Everton have been boosted in their hopes of signing Leander Dendoncker this month with West Ham boss David Moyes delaying a deal at the London Stadium.

Reports from Belgian paper [HLN](https://www.hln.be/sport/voetbal/transfertalk-club-haalt-kroatische-international-twee-engelse-clubs-pokeren-om-dendoncker-celtic-pusht-voor-musonda~a7b33e4e) claim the player is open to the idea of moving to London after the Hammers spent weeks scouting the player, however, Moyes is not convinced.

The club’s scouts and board are said to have given the green light for a deal set to cost somewhere in the region of £20 million, but Moyes is delaying the decision.

Everton have also had scouts in Belgium keeping tabs on the player’s situation, with Stoke and Watford also credited with an interest.

Dendoncker, who can play as a central defender or as a midfielder, has attracted interest from [Manchester United](https://readmanutd.com/) in the past.

Reports in Belgium have suggested that Anderlecht have been trying to wager a deal that could see Dendoncker return to the Pro League until the end of the season on loan.
