# Bowler permanent clause in Hull loan revealed

Hull City have a £5million permanent option in Josh Bowler’s loan deal, reports have revealed.

The Everton winger joined the Championship outfit on a season-long loan this summer, and it was reported at the time that a permanent option may have been included in the deal.

Originally signed for £4.25million from Queens Park Rangers in 2017, Everton had high hopes for the 20-year old at Goodison Park. However despite featuring heavily for David Unsworth’s Under-23s, it doesn’t look likely that he will now go on to breakthrough into Marco Silva’s senior side.

Bowler got off to a slow start on Humberside, however he has now settled in at the KCOM, where he has been able to showcase his ability that had made him such a promising player.

Should Hull decide they want to keep the player beyond the end of the current campaign, [the Hull Daily Mail report](https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/football/hull-city-josh-bowler-everton-3501380) that it will cost the Tigers £5million to land Bowler on a permanent deal.

### Read Everton Verdict

This does seem to be a shame as I remember when Bowler joined Everton as a really exciting young talent, although the nature of football would suggest that not everyone can crack it.

Anthony Gordon and Lewis Gibson are still waiting for their chance to breakthrough, and with those two at the top of the pile, it doesn’t make those below them look likely to do so any time soon.

£5million is a decent price tag for someone who has never played for the club, particularly given that Everton will make a profit, albeit small. Hopefully Bowler continues to impress so Everton can receive their fee once the season is done.
