# Brazil legend Rivaldo tips Bernard for international re-call

Brazilian legend Rivaldo believes that Everton summer signing Bernard has rejuvenated his career since making the move from Shakhtar Donetsk.

The 26-year old joined as a free agent after leaving the Ukrainian giants in the summer, and has so far impressed on Merseyside, having made eight appearances for the Toffees this season.

And Rivaldo, a World Cup winner with 74 Brazilian caps, believes that Bernard could force his way back into the Seleção side if he keeps up his current form.

Talking exclusively to [Star Sport](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/742439/Everton-news-Bernard-Richarlison-Brazil-Rivaldo-exclusive), Rivaldo said:

> He \[Bernad\] is a good player that took part at World Cup in 2014.

> I think he made the right choice to join Everton as he was already for three or four years at Ukraine and sometimes it’s good to make a club change, especially when you come to a stronger championship as Premier League.

> He is already making some impact and can keep improving. He is a small and light player and Premier League is a very physical competition, but he is very talented, and I believe he can make a good career there.

> He has an opportunity to produce a good campaign with Everton, scoring goals and assisting for others to earn his place back to Brazilian national team.

> This is a very noticed competition, the Premier League, and if he performs well, I think he can join his team-mate Richarlison in the Brazil team soon.

The versatile forward already has 14 caps for Brazil, and last played for his country during the historic 7-1 World Cup semi-final loss to Germany, where he played the full 90 minutes.

If he does receive a call-up, Bernard would join fellow Blues forward Richarlison in the squad, with the former Watford man having made his international debut earlier this season.
