# Chelsea plan talks over Barkley deal

Chelsea are planning to hold talks with Everton this weekend over a potential deal for Ross Barkley.

[According to The Mirror,](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/chelsea-tottenham-ross-barkley-transfer-11054192) Chelsea are set to hijack Tottenham’s move for Barkley.

[Tottenham](https://readtottenham.com/) are in the driving seat at the moment but Chelsea are hoping to usurp them to secure Barkley’s signature.

Barkley has been heavily linked with a move away from [Everton](https://readeverton.com/) this summer, with Chelsea and Tottenham having been consistently touted with interest.

[Everton](https://readeverton.com/) are said to be looking for £25m to let him leave, though it remains to be seen whether either side would be willing to pay that figure.

Barkley has been ruled out of action for three months, which did put a move in doubt.

However, the injury will not affect a potential move away from the club and that [Chelsea](https://readchelsea.com/) and [Tottenham](https://readtottenham.com/) are still willing to sign him.

Barkley has one year left on his current [Everton](https://readeverton.com/) contract.
