# Chelsea to submit fourth bid for Stones

Chelsea will submit a fourth bid for John Stones and are confident the centre-back will push through a move to Stamford Bridge, [according to the Mirror.](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/chelsea-transfers-evertons-john-stones-6300887#ICID=ios_TMNewsApp_AppShare_Click_Twitter)

The Premier League champions will offer £36million for the 21-year-old defender, who cost Everton £3million just two-and-a-half years ago.

Everton have refused to entertain Chelsea’s unwanted, questionable advances so far, having rejected bids of £20million, £26million and £30million and they are expected to reject the latest offer should it materialise.

Papers have been recently awash with headlines of Stones, his ‘transfer request’ and all round desire to leave, but there is nothing concrete to give these claims credibility.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez confirmed no transfer request was submitted by his star defender and yet again stated that he will not be leaving the club this summer.

[The Liverpool Echo](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/everton-defender-john-stones-not-9904169) reported on Friday that Stones has not and will not hand in a transfer request, but it hasn’t stopped the national press from stirring the pot.

Everton are set to complete the signing of Argentinian centre-back Ramiro Funes Mori, who is in Liverpool finalising his £5.5million move from River Plate.

But Mori’s impending arrival does not change Everton’s stance on Stones one iota, the 24-year-old will act as cover for Stones and his fellow England international Phil Jagielka.

Everton face Manchester City at Goodison Park on Sunday with John Stones expected to carry on his impressive early season form in the heart of the Toffees defence.
