# Connolly joins Lincoln on loan – Fan Reactions

Everton have confirmed that Callum Connolly has joined Lincoln City on a season-long loan.

The 21-year old versatile midfielder spent last season on loan in the Championship with both Wigan and Bolton, spending six months with each club over the course of the campaign.

Having beaten Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night, the Toffees have now sent Connolly on loan to Sincil Bank for the rest of the campaign, where he will help Danny Cowley’s men in their promotional charge.

Given the timing of the announcement, just a day after the Imps lost to the Blues, several Everton fans have taken to Twitter to poke fun at the club’s announcement.

Meanwhile some other fans weren’t overly keen on the move. Several of Lincoln’s antics in the cup tie were judged to have been unsportsmanlike, leading some fans to question why Everton would help them.
