# Cowley believes Everton have ‘world-class’ talent – why the Toffees should take Lincoln seriously

Lincoln City manager Danny Cowley has claimed that Everton’s squad is full of ‘world-class players’, with the Imps boss looking forward to this evening’s game.

Everton travel to Sincil Bank to take on newly promoted Lincoln later today for the second time in 2019, having narrowly beaten the Imps in the FA Cup back in January.

This time out Everton will surely be more prepared to face Cowley’s Lincoln side, who are blossoming under his stewardship.

Talking ahead on Tuesday ahead of the Carabao Cup tie ([via Lincolnshire Live](https://www.lincolnshirelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/danny-cowley-facing-everton-again-3252727)), Cowley had this to say on the threat Everton possess and how it’ll be good for his players to earn that experience:

> It will be great to play in front of a packed out Sincil Bank.
>
> It’s great for the players to be able to pit their wits against world-class players and it’s great for us to do the same against their vastly experienced management team.
>
> They’ve got an extremely strong squad. We’ve been looking at it and trying to gage how many changes they would be able to make.
>
> It’ll be a brilliant spectacle for the people of Lincoln and hopefully a great way for them to finish their summer.

### Read Everton Verdict

It’s always positive to hear an opposing manager consider Everton a genuine threat. So much of Everton’s recent history has consisted of the club being looked over and not considered to be the club they are, so positive comments must be accept graciously.

That being said, Cowley is not stupid, and he will know that his side have a good chance of getting a result this evening if they apply themselves correctly. Everton will want to get back on the horse after a disappointing result against Aston Villa, but Cowley could look to unsettle the Toffees from the off, which could certainly cause the club problems.

Hopefully, Silva takes the game seriously tonight and gives his side the best possible opportunity at succeeding.
