# Crystal Palace confirm Tosun loan deal – have permanent option

Crystal Palace have the option to sign Cenk Tosun on a permanent deal following his loan spell, [according to Turkish journalist Firat Gunayer](https://twitter.com/firatgunayer/status/1215605684542279681?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1215605684542279681&ref_url=http%3A%2F%2Fsportwitness.co.uk%2Fturkey-cenk-tosun-move-everton-crystal-palace-includes-e20m-purchase-option%2F).

[Everton have confirmed](https://www.evertonfc.com/news/1565564/tosun-joins-crystal-palace-on-loan) that Cenk Tosun has joined the Eagles on loan for the remainder of the season, with the forward having not made a single appearance for Everton since Carlo Ancelotti’s arrival as manager.

Palace will keep Tosun for the remainder of the season, and [according to Gunayer](https://twitter.com/firatgunayer/status/1215605684542279681?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1215605684542279681&ref_url=http%3A%2F%2Fsportwitness.co.uk%2Fturkey-cenk-tosun-move-everton-crystal-palace-includes-e20m-purchase-option%2F), they will have the opportunity to purchase him for €20million at the end of his short-term loan spell if they so wish.

Carlo Ancelotti confirmed in his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon, [via the Liverpool Echo’s Phil Kirkbride](https://twitter.com/philkecho/status/1215629352496435201), that Tosun had left for Palace in order to pursue regular game time, which was what had been expected of the Turkey international ahead of next summer’s Euro 2020 competition.

Everton have now been left with just Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison and Moise Kean as forward options, with Oumar Niasse having not been named in a single first-team squad under Ancelotti.

Palace’s permanent option in Tosun’s contract can only work in Everton’s favour, as the club had wanted to pocket a return of around £20million in the summer for the forward, [according to the Liverpool Echo](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/everton-striker-cenk-tosun-edges-17542815). Should Tosun perform well for Palace, Everton could benefit financially, while if he isn’t able to meet Roy Hodgson’s standards, the player will return to Goodison Park.

With Cenk Tosun reportedly on a £60,000 per-week contract at Everton ([via Mirror Sport](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/every-everton-players-2019-20-21242022)), the 28-year old’s temporary departure could make room for Ancelotti to spend this month by slightly reducing the wage bill, which could allow Ancelotti to begin forming the team that he inherited in his own image.
