# Digne thanks Everton for return to France squad

Everton defender Lucas Digne has thanked the club for their help in him earning a re-call to the latest France squad, the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-6260291/Lucas-Digne-thanks-Everton-helping-secure-return-France-set-up.html) reports.

Digne joined the Toffees in the summer for £18m from Barcelona and has since become Marco Silva’s first choice left-back ahead of Leighton Baines.

His so far sublime performances in an Everton shirt have seen his earn a re-call to Didier Deschamps’ France squad after disappointingly missing out on a place in his World Cup squad.

Digne spoke to evertontv about his recent re-call to international football:

> I think it (moving to Everton) is so important to my recall

> When I came here I wanted to play every week, to enjoy it and discover a new country, a new league, and then see what happens (with France), but now I am so happy.

> I want to say thank you to my team-mates, the coach and the staff and the fans too because they helped me a lot to get the recall.

> We have one friendly game against Iceland and then we play Germany in the Nations League. Every game is important for the national team.

> You are representing your country and it’s important to prove you deserve your place.
