# Everton 1-1 Crystal Palace – Player Ratings

Are we all immune to this again yet?

Anyway, Crystal Palace arrived after winning their three last games, as Everton slumped to two shocking defeats.

In hindsight, we were probably never going to win tonight but we all have our Blue-Tinted Spectacles on, so let’s leave hindsight.

We were stunning in the opening minutes, as we blitzed the Palace goal with shot after header after shot, and it reached its climax in Romelu Lukaku’s wonderfully struck free-kick goal.

It all went downhill from there, didn’t it?

The half-time whistle sounded and it was the signal for Palace to wake up, apparently, as we poked the bear inside Christian Benteke and the response was brutal, as he netted a towering header.

This was when Jon Moss decided he wanted to be the centre of attention, as he raised his megaphone and gave the message out that tackling (and in Lukaku’s case, being tackled) is not allowed.

You aren’t allowed to launch quick counter attacks off of an offside decision, and he decided he wanted a touch of the ball as he brilliantly intercepted Ross Barkley’s kick-off pass. Stunning shift tonight, Jon.

On to the ratings…
