# Everton 3-1 Chelsea – Everton Player Ratings

What a result for Everton!

Duncan Ferguson kicked off his temporary stint as Everton manager without a confident 3-1 victory over Chelsea.

The Toffees weren’t the most technically superior side in the world, but the entire team fought hard for every loose ball, they put themselves about and they battled for the badge.

Richarlison scored early into the game, delivering a thumping header that Ferguson himself would have been proud of from a delicious Djibril Sidibe cross.

Dominic Cavlert-Lewin made it two early into the second half after mix-up between Chelsea’s centre-backs saw the ball ricochet into his path, for the Everton No. 9 to stab home.

Mateo Kovacic hit a long-range volley shortly afterwards to bring the visitors back into the game, but Calvert-Lewin re-established the two-goal lead in the final ten minutes, finishing a scrappy move in the box that originated through Tom Davies.

The three points will be a huge boost to Everton, who still have plenty of tough fixtures to come in the next few weeks.
