# Everton assess January move for 15-goal Zagreb striker

**Everton are reportedly assessing Dinamo Zagreb striker Dion Beljo as they consider options to strengthen David Moyes’ attack in January.**

The 24-year-old was already on Everton’s radar, with TEAMtalk reporting last week that the Blues were among several Premier League clubs monitoring him. A fresh report from [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/everton/transfers/sources-everton-assessing-dion-beljo-move-in-january) says Beljo is now one of several options being assessed by [Everton](https://readeverton.com/) ahead of the winter window, with another centre-forward expected to be a priority.

Beljo’s form provides an obvious reason for the interest. The Croatia international has scored 15 goals in 15 appearances for Dinamo this season after registering 38 across all competitions last term.

## Everton consider Beljo among January options

Football Insider reports that Everton are tracking Beljo and could be prepared to make a move during the January window, although there is no suggestion that an offer has been submitted or formal negotiations have begun. Any deal may prove difficult. Beljo is contracted to Dinamo until 2030, leaving the Croatian club in a strong negotiating position after his prolific start to the season.

Everton’s interest comes amid the much-discussed shortage of natural options at centre-forward. Beto left for Fiorentina during the summer without a direct replacement arriving, leaving Thierno Barry as Moyes’ only recognised senior striker.

Barry has responded with six goals this season, but another forward would provide both competition and cover during the second half of the campaign. Everton had already been looking to strengthen the position before the summer window closed, only for a proposed move for Folarin Balogun to fall through.

## Beljo attracting Premier League interest

Beljo, who stands 6ft 5in, has previous experience in Germany with Augsburg and spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Rapid Vienna before returning to Croatia. His goalscoring record since joining Dinamo has subsequently attracted attention from elsewhere in the Premier League, with Manchester United and Tottenham among the clubs previously reported to have monitored his progress.

For Everton, the latest report represents a development in an existing transfer link rather than evidence that a deal is imminent. Beljo’s form and Moyes’ limited options behind Barry nevertheless make the Croatia international a player to watch as the January window approaches.
