Everton and Chelsea go into game level on points

There is little to separate the sides in the Premier League table. Everton are fifth after taking 10 points from their opening six matches, with Chelsea sixth on the same total.

Moyes’ side have won two and drawn four of their league games, while Chelsea arrive at Hill Dickinson Stadium looking to climb above Everton.

The visitors are attempting to avoid consecutive Premier League defeats against Everton for the first time since 2019. The Toffees have won six of their past nine home Premier League meetings with Chelsea, drawing two and losing one.

Who is the referee?

Tierney will take charge of the match, with Richard West and Steve Meredith his assistants. Michael Salisbury is the fourth official, while Nick Hopton will be on VAR duty and Lee Betts is the assistant VAR.

There are no players suspended for the game.

The fixture is the opening Premier League match of the weekend and Chelsea’s first competitive game outside London this season.
