# Everton closing in on Croatian international

Everton are closing in on yet another signing, it seems.

According to the Times’ reliable Merseyside journalist Paul Joyce yesterday, the Toffees have struck an agreement with Hajduk Split over the transfer of Nikola Vlasic.

The 19-year-old is held in extremely high regard in his native Croatia, and is a full international for his country’s senior side.

Vlasic has been lauded as one of European football’s next big things, and the likes of Arsenal among others have previously ran the rule over his progress with Hajduk.

Everton had the chance to cast a keen eye on him in recent times too in the Europa League. Vlasic played in both legs of his side’s play-off defeat to the Toffees, and evidently made Ronald Koeman’s mind up about his abilities.

The squad appear to lack natural pace, and this is something that Vlasic would undoubtedly provide.
