# Everton closing in on deal for Turkey international

Everton appear to be edging ever closer to sealing a deal for Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup this summer.

The Turkey international has been heavily linked with a number of Premier League clubs in recent weeks, with the Toffees named as one with a strong interest in the player.

Competition will be stern for the midfielder’s signature in the summer, however, if Turkish news outlet [Aksam](https://www.aksam.com.tr/spor/ozzie-evertona-cok-yakin/haber-723020) are to be believed, Everton are closing in on a move for Ozyakup.

The former Arsenal protege’s contract with Besiktas expires at the end of the season, meaning he will be able to move on for free this summer.

It’s claimed by Aksam that the talks between Ozyakup’s agent and Everton are developing well, with a transfer becoming increasingly likely.

It’s claimed in the report that Ozyakup would be keen to link up with Cenk Tosun once again, with the pair having enjoyed a successful spell at Besiktas together before the striker secured a £27m move to Everton in January.

Everton appear to be keen on securing their transfer dealings early ahead of the summer, with Boca Juniors defender Frank Fabra also said to be on his way to Goodison Park.
