# Everton confident of signing Yacine Brahimi

Everton are confident of landing FC Porto winger Yacine Brahimi after positive talks with the club, [according to the Mirror.](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/everton-confident-yacine-brahimi-transfer-8719183#ICID=sharebar_twitter)

After rejecting an initial £25m bid from Everton, Porto have demanded a fee of £35m for star-man Yacine Brahimi as half of his fee will have to be transferred to a third party, and this situation has been the stumbling block for the transfer so far.

Brahimi, who is keen on a move to the Blues, has netted 14 times in 61 appearances for the Portuguese outfit after joining in 2014 and going on to have a largely impressive debut season in the Portuguese league. However, he has fallen out of favour in the last few months after a switch of managers and style.

The Blues are looking to make the Algerian international their fifth senior signing of the summer after Maarten Stekelenburg, Idrissa Gueye, Ashley Williams and Yannick Bolasie as owner Farhad Moshiri looks to bankroll Everton’s Champion’s League dream and he has been quoted saying that he is ‘eager’ to bring in more faces before the deadline, and he is willing to smash the current wage structure to do so.

Brahimi himself has also been impressed by Everton’s new found ambition according to the Mirror and is keen on a move to Goodison after previously wanting to hold out for a Champion League side.
