# Everton confirm Hornby loan – Good move for the young forward?

Everton have [confirmed](https://twitter.com/Everton/status/1166289303040942081) that Fraser Hornby has joined KV Kortrijk on a season-long loan.

The Scotland youth international had been linked with a number of clubs to join on loan this summer, having starred for David Unsworth’s Under-23s last season.

A host of Championship and Scottish sides were reportedly keen on bringing the 19-year old forward in this summer on a short-term deal, but Belgian top flight outfit Kortrijk appeared to be leading the race.

Now Kortrijk who finished fourth in the Belgian First Division A last season, have completed the capture of Hornby, who will be looking to pick up valuable first-team experience.

It’s great to see Hornby get his loan move and have it go through, and it remains to be seen whether it will turn out to be the right decision from him.

With both Championship and Scottish clubs, it would be easier theoretically to judge his progress and keep an eye on how he is doing, whereas it can be difficult to translate performances in Belgian football to how they would be in England.

Overall though, best of luck to the young starlet, who is still regarded as a major one to keep an eye on out of Everton’s talented crop of young players.
