# Everton fans are concerned following Mina injury struggle

Several Everton fans have expressed their concern after yesterday’s news concerning Yerry Mina having missed training through injury.

With Everton having failed to sign Kurt Zouma this summer, there has been added pressure for Mina and Michael Keane to remain fit, to prevent the club from suffering an injury crisis. While it isn’t clear whether Mina’s injury will keep him out of the game against Brighton this weekend, the fact that he has missed training is enough to have worried certain fans. Mason Holgate is likely to deputise in Mina’s absence, while Lewis Gibson could come onto the bench for the first time in the Premier League.

Taking to Twitter, several fans expressed their worry that Mina could miss Saturday’s game.

It’s definitely not an ideal situation if Mina is to miss this weekend’s game, but Holgate should be able to step up. At 23-years old now, he needs to prove his worth and Brighton would be a great opportunity for him to do so.

It would also be great to see Lewis Gibson move onto the bench. There has been so much speculation surrounding a potential exit for him that his inclusion in the match-day squad could be crucial in keeping him on Merseyside.

Fingers crossed it isn’t a serious issue for the Colombian though, because long-term that could be problematic for the Toffees.
