# Everton fans debate Lookman return amid reports that he wants Premier League move

Several Everton fans have claimed that they would be open to seeing Ademola Lookman return to Goodison Park this month.

The 22-year old winger left Everton last summer in a permanent move to RB Leipzig, reuniting with the German club he spent six months on loan with in 2018.

The former Charlton Athletic starlet had wanted to return to the Bundesliga outfit the minute his loan spell ended, and despite having refused to sell Lookman initially, Everton eventually conceded and let him leave in the summer.

Now the England Under-21 international wants to return to the Premier League, having barely made an impact at the Red Bull Arena this season.

Lookman has only made three appearances in the Bundesliga, with just one of them coming from a starting position ([WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/299451/Show/Ademola-Lookman)), and the forward has grown frustrated with his lack of game time.

[Sky Sports report](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11678/11903421/ademola-lookman-newcastle-consider-loan-move-with-option-to-buy-former-everton-winger) that Newcastle are interested in bringing Lookman back to the Premier League on a loan deal with the option to sign him permanently, and a number of Everton fans claim that they would welcome his return to Merseyside.

Others though were not convinced, claiming that he doesn’t deserve a second chance at Goodison Park.

### Read Everton Verdict

Ademola Lookman is undoubtedly extremely talented and carries plenty of potential, but something has to be said about his lack of game time in Germany.

Leipzig pushed so hard to sign the winger and Lookman wanted to go so badly ([Liverpool Echo](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/exclusive-everton-boss-marco-silva-16940904)) that it seemed like a match made in heaven, so for him to have fallen out of favour so much at the Red Bull Arena suggests that there could be a larger problem under the surface.

Lookman was let go by Everton far too soon, and he has so much potential to still make it at the top level. However, Everton couldn’t go back and re-sign someone who so openly wanted out, and I don’t think Lookman would consider returning either.

Newcastle would represent a better bet for the 22-year old, and Everton would be better suited looking at higher profile players that can deliver guaranteed quality.
