# Everton fans want the club to be cautious about bringing Gomes back

Several Everton fans have begged caution from the Blues this weekend, as Carlo Ancelotti teased a return for Andre Gomes against Arsenal.

The Portugal international has been out of action since November, having [suffered an ankle fracture dislocation](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50283980) under a challenge from Tottenham forward Heung-min Son.

However, Ancelotti revealed to [evertonfc](https://www.evertonfc.com/news/1614661/ancelotti-expecting-gomes-to-be-available-for-arsenal-clash) earlier this week that the 26-year old has now recovered and is ready to help his club against the Gunners on Sunday.

On whether Gomes could expect to play, Ancelotti said:

> My personal opinion is he is ready to play.
>
> When a player has been out for a long period, I think it is better to start the game.
>
> He can prepare properly, (rather) than to put him on from the bench but I have to speak to him and together we can find a solution.

Following Ancelotti’s comments, a number of Everton supporters have urged caution from the Toffees boss, with some showing concern that Gomes could be brought back too early.
