# Everton find 11th hour agreement for Iwobi – Good move for the club?

It appears that Everton have made a breakthrough over a deal for Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi right at the death of the Deadline Day, [according to David Ornstein of BBC Sport](https://twitter.com/bbcsport_david/status/1159494796148379648).

Ornstein’s report suggests that the Blues will pay a fee somewhere in the region of £35million to 40million that will see Iwobi complete his move to Goodison Park today.

Arsenal rejected a £30million offer from the Toffees for the Nigeria international yesterday, and while it took Everton a long time to make their second bid, it appears they may have got their man.

This transfer Deadline Day has left me mixed emotions, and it has certainly been a rollercoaster ride of a day for Everton fans.

Out of the three positions Everton were looking to strengthen in today, a high-profile winger and a centre-back came higher in Marco Silva’s list of priorities than another midfielder, with Fabian Delph and JP Gbamin already signed on.

While Iwobi has primarily played as a winger for Arsenal, reports are suggesting that the 23-year old could be considered the midfield signing Silva wanted and while it is promising to see a Deadline Day signing being made, I still feel Everton will be left ruing their failure to find a central defender.
