# Everton have kept an eye on former Liverpool winger Rafael Camacho

Everton are interested in former Liverpool midfielder Rafael Camacho, although they will face competition from Tottenham for his signature, [according to Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-everton-in-hunt-to-sign-dazzling-attacker-months-after-he-quit-liverpool/).

The 19-year old winger left the Reds for Sporting Lisbon in a bid to get more first-team football at the end of last season, and since then, [Star Sport report](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/man-utd-everton-transfer-battle-21463579) that Camacho has impressed in his native Portugal.

Camacho has played 20 times in all competitions for the Lions this season ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rafael-camacho/profil/spieler/400831)), and as [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-everton-in-hunt-to-sign-dazzling-attacker-months-after-he-quit-liverpool/) reports, his form has led several clubs to scout his progress.

[FI claim](https://www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-everton-in-hunt-to-sign-dazzling-attacker-months-after-he-quit-liverpool/) that not only have Everton, Manchester United and Tottenham watched Camacho this season, but Arsenal and Chelsea are also said to be interested in his development.

### Read Everton Verdict

One of the biggest strengths to Camacho’s game is his versatility, with the winger having played in a [variety of positions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rafael-camacho/leistungsdaten/spieler/400831) for Sporting this season. As someone who frequently plays on the right however, he could fill a role that is in [need of strengthening](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/marcel-brands-explains-everton-transfer-17568853) at Goodison Park.

However, Camacho is very inexperienced, which could also see Everton elect to pursue more experienced targets. Camacho has [played 20 times](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rafael-camacho/profil/spieler/400831) for Sporting this season, but he could only manage two senior appearances for Liverpool last season ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rafael-camacho/leistungsdaten/spieler/400831/plus/0?saison=2018)).

Should Marcel Brands want to continue strengthening for the future, then Camacho could be a wise investment for the future, with former Liverpool teammate Alisson describing the Portuguese youth international as having “[incredible potential](https://sportwitness.co.uk/liverpools-alisson-talks-outgoing-transfer-incredible-potential-personality/)“.

However, if Everton’s true ambition is to break back into [Europe](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7956181/Carlo-Ancelotti-insists-Everton-Europe-dramatic-comeback-victory-Watford.html), my predilection would be for Brands and Carlo Ancelotti to consider a more experienced candidate for the position.
