Everton Reportedly In Talks With Former Champions League Winner

Everton are reportedly in talks with Italian giants AC Milan as they bid to sign former Portsmouth midfielder Sulley Muntari.

Muntari, 30, was part of Portsmouth’s FA Cup winning side back in 2008 before moving to Inter Milan.

At Inter he won the UEFA Champions League in 2010, two Serie A titles (08/09 and 09/10) and the Coppa Italia (2010).

However the Ghanaian’s career has hit a bit of a standstill in recent times. He became out of favour at Inter and subsequently moved to Sunderland on loan in 2011.

He failed to impress at the Stadium of Light, where he made nine appearances, and scored just the one goal.

He moved from Inter to rivals AC Milan in 2012, but again he hasn’t been a standout player for the Rossoneri like many hoped.

He has made just 17 appearances this season for Milan and is out-of-contract next summer. He hasn’t featured for Milan since March and now the Italian club look to sell the Ghanaian after a disappointing Serie A campaign.

It looks like Roberto Martinez is willing to give Muntari a third bite into the Premier League apple as he looks to strengthen his squad for next season.
