# Everton interested in Alexander Scholz

According to a recent report from Belgian news outlet [DHNet](https://www.dhnet.be/sports/football/everton-est-interesse-par-scholz-583348fccd70d913edcf6827), Everton are considering a move for Standard Liege defender Alexander Scholz.

The Danish defender has been in good form so far out in the Belgian Pro League and has earned plenty of plaudits, with clubs starting to take an interest in his services.

The 24-year-old is yet to make a senior, international appearance for his native Denmark but he has been tipped to burst onto the international scene in the near future; especially if his quality performances continue.

Everton could be looking to bolster their defence in the January transfer window, with Ronald Koeman looking to strengthen all areas of his squad ahead of the second part of the Premier League season.

The current crop of defenders at the club are still at a good standard but it seems that they are largely getting a little old, so a more youthful option with plenty of quality in the form of Scholz could be a good option.
