# Everton linked with move for Eloy Room

Everton are considering making a move to sign Vitesse Arnhem goalkeeper Eloy Room as Joel Robles looks certain to leave Goodison Park, according to the [Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4721090/Everton-weighing-Vitesse-keeper-Eloy-Room.html).

Robles is wanted by La Liga side Deportivo La Coruna and Everton are unlikely to stand in his way.

However, that would leave the club short of a third-choice goalkeeper behind Jordan Pickford and Maarten Stekelenburg and Room is one of the options to fill the void.

The 28-year-old is currently Vitesse’s first-choice goalkeeper but he looks set to leave this summer after rejecting a contract extension.

By refusing a new deal, the Curacao international’s future is up in the air as he’s about to enter the final year of his current contract and there is a very large possibility that he leaves.

Quite whether he’s willing to forgo regular first-team football to become a second or third choice at Everton still remains to be seen, although Everton are likely to pay him a pretty decent salary.
