# Everton eye Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi after Champions League hat-trick

[**Everton**](https://readeverton.com/) **are reportedly monitoring Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi as David Moyes considers his attacking options ahead of the January transfer window.**

[TEAMtalk reports](https://www.teamtalk.com/everton/nicolo-tresoldi-transfer-news-everton-join-leeds-newcastle-race) that Everton are among several clubs interested in the 22-year-old, with Newcastle United and Leeds United also tracking his progress. Scouts from the three Premier League clubs are expected to watch Tresoldi when Club Brugge face Lens in the Champions League.

The Germany Under-21 international has enhanced his reputation with an impressive start to the season, scoring nine times in 12 appearances across all competitions. His European form has been particularly eye-catching. Tresoldi scored against Aston Villa in Club Brugge’s opening Champions League fixture before hitting a hat-trick in their 4-3 victory away to Inter Milan.

That treble was the first by a Club Brugge player in the Champions League and took Tresoldi to four goals in his opening two league-phase appearances.

## Everton continue to assess striker options

Everton’s reported interest comes after Moyes was left with Thierno Barry as his only recognised senior centre-forward following Beto’s summer departure for Fiorentina. The club attempted to strengthen the position before the transfer deadline, with a proposed move for Monaco striker Folarin Balogun failing to materialise.

Tresoldi is attracting interest well beyond Everton, Newcastle and Leeds, with several leading European clubs also reported to have monitored the former Hannover forward.

There is no suggestion that Everton have made an offer or opened negotiations with Club Brugge. At this stage, their interest appears to centre on scouting Tresoldi as they assess potential attacking targets ahead of January.

His Champions League performances have inevitably increased his profile, however, and Everton, as ever, will face considerable competition should they decide to take their interest further.
