# Everton player ratings vs Bournemouth: Tarky the hero and Pickford shines

**James Tarkowski struck in stoppage time as [Everton](https://readeverton.com/) rescued a [1-1 draw at Bournemouth](https://readeverton.com/david-moyes-everton-transfers-bournemouth-ndiaye-armstrong/) despite David Moyes admitting his side had not done enough after the break.**

Here are our Everton player ratings from the Vitality Stadium.

## Everton player ratings

**Jordan Pickford — 8**\
Could do little about Alex Scott’s opener and made important saves after the break. Crucial in keeping Everton close enough to rescue something.

**Merlin Rohl — 6**\
Another steady outing as a makeshift right-back. Worked hard defensively without offering enough going forward.

**James Tarkowski — 8**\
Turned by Evanilson for the opener but recovered superbly. Defended doggedly before producing a captain’s moment with a terrific 91st-minute finish.

**Jarrad Branthwaite — 7**\
Nearly scored early and made several important interventions as Bournemouth increased the pressure.

**Vitalii Mykolenko — 6**\
Solid rather than spectacular. Had plenty of defensive work as Bournemouth became increasingly dangerous.

**James Garner — 6**\
Competitive early on but struggled as Bournemouth gained control. Booked and replaced after 62 minutes.

**Harrison Armstrong — 7**\
Another composed performance. Created an excellent opportunity for Barry and continues to look comfortable at Premier League level.

**Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall — 8**\
Everton’s most influential attacking player. Constantly tried to make things happen and was FotMob’s highest-rated Everton midfielder.

**Iliman Ndiaye — 7**\
Bright in possession and denied by Petrovic early. Everton needed to get him involved more after half-time.

**Tyrique George — 6**\
Direct and lively without having his biggest influence. Petrovic denied him during Everton’s strong first half.

**Thierno Barry — 5**\
Excellent movement repeatedly got him into dangerous positions, but his finishing deserted him. Several opportunities went begging.

## Substitutes

**Hayden Hackney — 7**\
On 62 minutes. Made a potentially goal-saving intervention and later delivered the corner for Tarkowski’s equaliser.

**Brennan Johnson — 6**\
Added pace after replacing George but struggled to change the game’s direction.

**Beto — 6**\
Provided physical presence during a difficult second half without receiving much service.

**Charly Alcaraz — 6**\
Late introduction and booked in stoppage time.

**Tim Iroegbunam — 6**\
Little time to influence proceedings after arriving in the 87th minute.

**Player of the match: James Tarkowski — 8**

Pickford was excellent, but Tarkowski’s equaliser earns him the nod after rescuing a point that looked increasingly unlikely.
