# Everton predicted XI: Manchester City (H)

[Everton](https://readeverton.com/2021/02/15/everton-fans-fume-carlo-ancelotti-comments-home-form-fulham/) face a daunting task as they welcome title challengers Manchester City to Goodison Park tonight.

The visitors have had a faultless run of [16 consecutive wins](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/manchester-city/spielplandatum/verein/281) in all competitions and will be hoping to claim Everton’s scalp as the latest team to fall under Pep Guardiola’s remorseless push to reclaim the Premier League title.

[Carlo Ancelotti](https://readeverton.com/2021/02/15/everton-fans-enraged-josh-king-substitute-fulham/) will know that his side will need to push on and find their resolve after the horrendous [2-0 defeat](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/56065653) against Fulham on Sunday night. Everton have only won [one of their last five league games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-everton/spielplan/verein/29/saison_id/2020) and know that recovering a sense of belief and working hard on performances is the only way to overcome such a rut.

Everton will need to start a free-flowing run of wins sooner rather than later if their quest to secure a European spot at the end of the season is to bear fruit.

The Toffees will again be without [top scorer](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-everton/leistungsdaten/verein/29) Dominic Calvert-Lewin after the [club confirmed](https://twitter.com/Everton/status/1361665117541253121?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet) that the talismanic marksman remains unavailable through injury.

Despite the availability of recent signing Josh King, Ancelotti opted to play Gyfli Sigurdsson as a false nine on Sunday, with [minimal impact](https://readeverton.com/2021/02/15/everton-fans-fume-carlo-ancelotti-comments-home-form-fulham/). As a result, the Norwegian could be one of several Everton players to come into the fold against Manchester City tonight.
