# Everton ready to spend €12m to sign Turkey international

Everton are reportedly ready to spend €12m on Oguzhan Ozyakup, with the midfielder claimed to have penned a new deal with Besiktas.

The Turkish international was set to leave his club on a free transfer this summer, with his previous deal reaching its expiry at the end of the season.

However, it appears as though Besiktas have tied him down to a new four-year contract at the club, perhaps with the view of at least receiving a transfer fee for one of their prized assets.

Everton had been heavily linked with a move for Ozyakup and it seems as though Besiktas’ decision to reward him with a new deal has not deterred them from their interest.

It’s claimed by Turkish outlet [Hurriyet](https://www.hurriyet.com.tr/sporarena/oguzhan-ozyakup-surprizi-12-milyon-euroya-40834075) that Everton are still willing to pay for the signing of Ozyakup, with his new release clause apparently standing at a mere sum of €12m.

However, this deal will only be feasible for the Toffees if Besiktas can negotiate to exclude the agreement that Arsenal receive 30% of any future transfer fee received for Ozyakup, as per the report.
