# Everton receive boost as Milan struggle to negotiate for Todibo

Milan are struggling to come to terms with Barcelona over Everton and Manchester United transfer target Jean-Clair Todibo, according to reports.

The Rossoneri have reportedly been in negotiations with Barca for a few weeks now, although the two clubs are some way apart in their valuations of the young centre-back.

Tuttosport ([via Sempre Milan](https://sempremilan.com/tuttosport-milan-identify-alternative-as-deal-for-man-utd-everton-target-hits-snag)) claim that Barcelona are seeking €25million as well as a buyback clause, while Milan are only prepared to offer €15million and without a buyback clause.

While the report claims that Milan are still hopeful of striking a deal, they are said to be wary of Premier League interest looming over their shoulder.

Everton’s interest in Todibo [was reported](https://readeverton.com/2019/12/24/everton-eye-barcelona-defender-todibo/) earlier this week, while it was also reported that Barcelona’s desire to see the 19-year old play European football [could hinder the Toffees’ chances](https://readeverton.com/2019/12/26/everton-suffer-blow-in-todibo-pursuit/) at landing him.

Milan are also said be considering Saint-Etienne defender Wesley Fofana as an alternative.

Everton will hope that Milan decide against pursuing a deal for Todibo so that they can swoop, although the buyback clause could also be a stumbling block for Everton.

Everton have shown that they would be willing to include a buyback clause in the past, with one having been inserted into both Gerard Deulofeu’s and Yerry Mina’s contracts, although Marcel Brands refused to budge over not including one in the deal to sign Moise Kean.

Everton face heavy competition, would need to overcome the buyback clause issue and would need to tempt the player to move to Goodison Park, so a move does look difficult to pull off.
