# Everton reject £8m bid for Naismith

Everton have rejected an £8m bid for Steven Naismith from Norwich City, according to various sources including Sky Sports and the [Liverpool Echo](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/everton-reject-bid-norwich-city-9970820).

Reports emerged this morning that Everton were bracing themselves for interest in the Scotsman, with Norwich stepping up their interest and offering the Blues a hefty fee for the forward.

According to the article, Everton see the player as an important member of the squad, thus expressing their desire to keep hold of the player. Sunderland had also shown an interest in Naismith earlier in the day but as of now there is no concrete offer from the club.

Steven only signed a three-year deal back in December but is said to have one eye on the Euro 2016 qualifiers and feels he needs to make sure he is playing regularly in club competitions.

Naismith has been used more as a bench player this season, with Arouna Kone and Tom Cleverley both being preferred out wide while Barkley has played centrally. The Scotsman scored for the club against Barnsley in the Capital One Cup last Wednesday.

Would you sell Naismith for £8m?
