# Everton set to welcome duo back Rooney and McCarthy back

Everton have been boosted by the news that both Wayne Rooney and James McCarthy will be available for Saturday’s trip to Bournemouth.

Speaking at his weekly pre-match press conference, Allardyce confirmed the duo would be back in contention for the Toffees.

The pair both missed the game against West Brom on Boxing Day as Everton were held to a goalless draw on the road.

Rooney will be a welcomed return for Everton. The 32-year-old forward is the Toffees’ top goalscorer in the Premier League this season with 10 to his name.

The Everton boss also confirmed that left-back Leighton Baines has hit a slight set back in his recovery from injury, while fellow full-back Seamus Coleman remains a long-term absentee but is progressing well.
