# Everton Soares confirms talks with Ancelotti and Richarlison

Gremio attacker Everton Soares has confirmed that he held talks with Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti this month.

As reported on [Globo Esporte](https://globoesporte.globo.com/rs/futebol/times/gremio/noticia/apos-fico-everton-revela-ligacao-de-ancelotti-certeza-que-irei-aprender-com-ele.ghtml), the Brazilian, more commonly known as Everton or Cebolinha, had a discussion about moving to Merseyside.

As quoted in the report, he said:

> He (Ancelotti) asked me how I was doing and if he was interested in playing at the club.

> It is a great club, a great opportunity. A great coach too, I will definitely learn a lot from him.

> I have a friendship with Richarlison, I was able to play together with him. He ended up knowing Everton’s interest and came to me. I am also happy for these contacts.

The Toffees were [strongly linked](https://talksport.com/football/654034/everton-bid-gremio-striker-everton-soares-carlo-ancelotti/) with a big-money move for Cebolinha, but as reported on the[Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7890077/Gremio-reveal-Everton-no-offers-Brazilian-striker-Everton.html), the club made no official offers.

We’re delighted to hear that Ancelotti and Richarlison spoke to the 23-year-old to try and convince him to make the move because it shows that they both are committed to improving the team.

The Brazilian has a total of [36 goals in his career](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/everton/profil/spieler/321239) playing in the Brazil top flight and who knows, after his glowing comments about the club, he might well join in the summer. Agent Richarlison, do your thing!
