# Everton target Edin Dzeko training alone as transfer rumours persist

Everton have been handed a boost in their pursuit of [Edin Dzeko](https://readeverton.com/2021/01/25/edin-dzeko-could-make-shock-everton-switch-roma-fallout-fonseca/) after [Sky Italia](https://sport.sky.it/calcio/serie-a/2021/01/25/dzeko-roma-news) reports claimed that the striker is training alone.

Currently on the books of Serie A outfit AS Roma, the Bosnian is reportedly training in isolation following a [publicised dispute](https://readeverton.com/2021/01/25/edin-dzeko-could-make-shock-everton-switch-roma-fallout-fonseca/) with his manager Paulo Fonseca. The 34-year-old striker duly looks to be on his way out of the Stadio Olimpico either on loan or in a permanent deal.

Despite his age, Dzeko’s experience has served him well and he is showing no signs of losing his scoring touch, with [seven goals in just 15](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/edin-dzeko/profil/spieler/28396) Serie A appearances this season, demonstrating formidable efficiency in front of goal.

The former Manchester City marksman is [attracting interest from](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9185417/Edin-Dzeko-trains-Roma-forward-looks-secure-away.html) Premier League side West Ham, whilst his former club and the Toffees have also been linked.

Given his [previous success](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/edin-dzeko/profil/spieler/28396) in English football, the Premier League has been touted as the most likely destination were Dzeko to leave Italy behind in the latter stages of this transfer window. [Sky Italia](https://sport.sky.it/calcio/serie-a/2021/01/25/dzeko-roma-news) claimed that the veteran striker will only leave in favour of a move to an ‘elite club’.

With Carlo Ancelotti at the helm, Everton could be an attractive project for Dzeko in the latter stages of his career.

The Italian is [vastly experienced](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/carlo-ancelotti/profil/trainer/523) across a multitude of leagues, and the likes of James Rodriguez join Ancelotti in [having experience](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/james-rodriguez/profil/spieler/88103) with elite clubs in their playing careers.

In that view, there certainly could be a basis to bring Dzeko to Merseyside – if the finances are right.
