# Everton targeting Juan Muñoz

Everton are set to trigger the €3m release clause of Sevilla forward Juan Muñoz, [according to Mucho Deporte.](https://www.muchodeporte.com/sevilla_fc/26472/el_everton_quiere_llevarse_a_juan_munoz/)

The 19-year-old has rejected Sevilla’s latest contract offer and with only one year left on his current deal is set to leave the Spanish club. The current Europa league holders will offer the youngster a €300,000 annual wage with the chance of going out on loan this season.

Sevilla have recently signed former Athletic striker Fernando Llorente and also have Ciro Immobile on loan from Borussia Dortmund as well as French striker Kevin Gameiro. This would leave the young Spaniard little chance of featuring in any form of first team football this year.

[Insidespanishfootball.com](https://www.insidespanishfootball.com/161097/everton-set-to-pay-e3m-release-clause-for-sevilla-striker-juan-munoz/) claim the player is close to renegotiating a deal with Sevilla but Everton would be able to offer the Spanish U-19’s forward a long-term lucrative deal to tie the forward down.

With the recent signing of Leandro Rodríguez the deal looks unlikely but Martinez has shown that he likes to dip into the Spanish market, and is regularly linked with Barcelona youngsters. Fan favourite Gerard Deulofeu moved on a loan deal in the 13/14 season before rejoining the Blues on a permanent transfer this July.
