Everton told to forget January deal for Yarmolenko

Dynamo Kyiv have told Everton to forget about a deal in January for Andriy Yarmolenko, according to the Mirror.

The 26-year-old is highly thought of in the European game and has been a long-term target for many Premier League clubs.

Most recently Everton have been the frontrunners for his signature and could’ve completed a deal in the summer – if they hadn’t had come in so late for the player.

The sale of Steven Naismith for £8.5m seemed to be in place to help fund any possible deal for Yarmolenko this January, but the deal now seems to be dead in the water.

Kyiv’s president, Ihor Surkis, has said the Ukrainian won’t be leaving this transfer window as they are still in the Champions League.

Yarmolenko scored two goals in the Champions league group stage, helping his side reach the last 16 where they’ll face Manchester City In February.

He also sits as the third top goalscorer in the Ukrainian Premier League with six. His goals have helped Kyiv to second place behind Shakhtar Donetsk – only on goal difference.

As a deal for Yarmolenko this month seems off the cards, would you like to see Everton wait until the summer or sign an alternative this window?
