Everton vs. Manchester United: Predicted XI

Everton boss Roberto Martinez is facing an injury crisis on the eve of Everton’s most important game of the season, and a game that could decide his career at the club.

After the midweek decimation at the hands of bitter rivals Liverpool, there are several key players that are set to miss the semi-final. Phil Jagielka and Seamus Coleman are still sidelined after missing the derby in which Gareth Barry picked up a knock in.

As a result of Funes Mori’s suspension, John Stones is the only fit senior centre-back and despite being subbed off against Liverpool due to stomach cramps, he looks set to start against United. Youngster Matty Pennington has been recalled early from a loan spell at Walsall in the face of the recent centre-back dilemma as Roberto Martinez assesses his options.

With a threadbare backline, Martinez certainly has his work cut out in not only his team selection but also to motivate his team in order for to progress to the promised land of the FA Cup final.
