# Everton vs. Sunderland – Predicted XI

Everton return from the international break with a trip up to Sunderland, which, as our memories would love to forget, brought about a 3-0 routing last season which caused Roberto Martinez to be sacked as boss.

Another boss who Everton have a few ties with this week is Sunderland Manager David Moyes, who managed the Blues for ten years prior to Martinez’ arrival and subsequent departure. Ronald Koeman now leads a new-look Everton to fight the old guard.

Steven Pienaar, Victor Anichebe and Jack Rodwell may well line up for the Black Cats on Monday, all against their former employers. I never thought I’d see the day Steven Pienaar comes up against Leighton Baines, in different colours.

Victor Anichebe called Goodison his home for 7 years, in which he made 131 appearances, while Jack Rodwell broke through the youth system at Finch Farm and enjoyed a very unceremonious exit as he went the way of John Stones, taking a trip down to Manchester.

With a bit of reminiscing done, let’s look at the possible lineup for Monday and my Key Man for the week…
