# Everton willing to accept loss on Tosun – should they sell him?

Everton are willing to let Cenk Tosun go in January according to reports, and the club would be prepared to accept a significant loss on their investment.

The Turkey international was signed in January 2018 for £27million from Besiktas, and while he got off on the right foot at Goodison Park in his initial six-month spell, he has since struggled for any consistency for the Blues.

Tosun was dropped as first choice forward last season for either of Richarlison or Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and with the introduction of Moise Kean this season, the Turk has fallen further down the pecking order, putting his long-term future up in the air.

According to [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/everton-willing-to-sell-tosun-at-a-major-loss/), Everton would be willing to sell Tosun in January if they received an offer of £15million, which is just over half of what Sam Allardyce paid for him.

Everton had previously missed the opportunity to sell the bustling forward this month, with Qatari side Al Gharafa keen on the 28-year old’s services. Everton were happy for a dealt to be done, but Tosun rejected the chance to move.

It is believed that Tosun wants to force his way into Everton’s first-team plans, although if there is no chance by the time the January window reopens, then he will consider his future elsewhere.

Another day, another Cenk Tosun story. It has becoming increasingly difficult to keep track of where Tosun’s headspace reportedly is, but at the very least it seems as though Everton are set on shifting the forward.

One thing that would probably be safe to assume is that if Silva is keen to sell Tosun to raise funds, then he has his eyes set on some other forward who can come in to improve the club, whether that is Wilfried Zaha, someone else linked, or someone hidden behind a smokescreen.

I don’t want Tosun to leave, but if he does, hopefully Everton can squeeze every last penny out of whoever it is that launches an offer.
